The Makita 8406 diamond core drill is a heavy duty machine and is ideal for site work. It has a percussion and a rotary action. The torque limiter makes the machine safer by protecting the user incase the core bit was to snag. This machine has a 850w input wattage. 0-22500 blows per minute. Max dry diamond core 152mm, 20mm in masonry, 13mm in steel and 30mm into wood. Percussion action for drilling pilot hole. Rotary action for dry diamond core drilling. Torque limiter makes the machine safer by protecting the user. He progressed initially to a market stall before later that year opening his first shop supplying mainly Government surplus tools & equipment. In 1962 Alan moved to Darlington finding premises in Clifton Road. The company has now moved onto the 2nd Wadkins generation. 2002 saw a second depot open in Richmond.
